Reino Unido publica planos para regulamentação de stablecoins.

Non-fiat-backed stablecoins will not be allowed into regulated payment chains. The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has recently issued a directive stating that only stablecoins that are backed by fiat currency will be permitted within the country’s regulated payment systems. This decision comes as a measure to protect consumers and ensure financial stability.

The use of stablecoins has been on the rise globally, as they provide users with a stable and secure digital asset. However, concerns over the lack of regulatory oversight and potential risks have prompted regulators to take action. By limiting the use of non-fiat-backed stablecoins, SARB aims to prevent the potential disruption of the country’s financial system and maintain control over its currency.

This move highlights the increasing importance of regulation in the cryptocurrency industry, as authorities aim to strike a balance between innovation and consumer protection. It also serves as a reminder for users to exercise caution when engaging with digital assets and to ensure that they are using stablecoins that comply with regulatory requirements.
